Our field is surrounded by woods and water. We have encountered a few critters. There are a few signs warning of the cyotes in the woods. There have been baby turtles and big turtles found through the years. But this was the first snake in a bush. He was small but a snake is still a snake. Now we are on full alert around the mulch behind the bleachers!

Florida Fun
No time gets wasted with our team. A break between games means we play other games.
Carly was all smiles...
...until she was the first one knocked out.
Good friends who played for Coach Hoerner and with Coach Kat visited and supported the Cougars for the weekend.
From left to right: Heather Hodges: Secondbase, class of 2005; Nora (Conroy) Pardave: Firstbase, class of 2003; Coach Kat, Coach Hoerner, Logan Pavao; Erin (Cormier) Pavao: LH Pitcher, class of 2003, mother of Logan; KD (Smith) Johnson: Shortstop, class of 2003.
Logan was the scene stealer.
We played well for him and in return he gave us big gummy smiles.

Favorite team activity: eating
Best time to take a picture of Shades, mid-bite!
This was round 1 of food for the rookies. Notice the wall behind them; the food is on the other side!
Clearly Mendy is doing well-just look at her face!
Pam must be about to beat Kristi and Alexa, she is not even glancing up for this photo!

Rookie Road Trip
Every road trip begins with mass chaos that results in the right uniforms being packed.
Then there is the moment when Coach Kat sternly calls the freshman off the bus (mind you they were the last to arrive for the trip...)
Rookies-it is just a picture for the blog :)
And then we are off...on the road to success!
Some card games are played-Cougar Spades to be exact.
Two members of the Wolfpack watch spring training baseball as we go.
Then there are cheers for excitement about our drive.
Why the long face? We broke down :(
Kelsey missed it all while she was asleep.
And Carly.
And Pita.
And Jen.
AJ, Court and Hill got yummy slurpees to pass the time.
But a nice man in a RV came to the rescue.
Sunny Florida next!
