Keeping in "softball" shape

Keeping in "softball" shape requires more than just the gym. Many of our returners have played in 23-u games this summer. Seniors Katie Nutaits and Kristi Woodall, sophomore Kristy Giragosian and alumni Shannon Howard have played toghether for a couple games.

They played sophomores Ashton Jarrett and Stephanie Saylors in a recent tournament.

I asked them the best part of summer ball and the response: I can play any poistion. G at shortstop, KDub at firstbase and Shades catching!

Summer Camp

The 2010 Summer camp was the biggest yet for the College of Charleston. Six players were on staff this year: Katie Pesature, Katie Nutaitis, Kristi Woodall, Kristy Giragosain, Ashton Jarrett and Stephanie Saylors.

Other coaches joining in on the fun this year were: Shannon Howard, CofC Softball Alum, Jess Clack, assistant coach at University of Incarnate Word, Theresa Stephens, assistant coach at Campbell University, Amy Yates, assistant at Limestone College; Kevin Jackson, former baseball player at Cortland University in New York; Janice Beckett, athletic trainer at Cox High School in North Carolina and Danea Ciotoli Varsity Softball Coach at Union Endicott High School in New York.

Days were filled with hitting in the cage, defense of the field and practices/games at night.

By the end of the week everyone was hot and in need of a popsicle break!
